A little farm & a big dream…

Flora & Fauna Farm is a flower farm located in West Saanich, Vancouver Island.  It’s a little farm with a lot of love and a big mission to provide beautiful, naturally grown, seasonal blooms for local people & events.  The flower farm started as a dream of mine.  I have always grown flowers on a small scale, but with big love and hope that one day I could grow enough flowers to share with my community.  I have a lot of passion and love for nature and for our earth.  I find myself at peace in nature, with animals, and surrounded by plants.  The forest and ocean faithfully take my breath away.  The feeling of home and love I get from the forest, ocean, and nature has fuelled my need to protect it.  For these reasons, I am committed to living a sustainable lifestyle with minimal impact on the earth, and leaving it to continue having the beautiful impact it does on us and on our future generations.  My mission is to grow flowers organically and ecologically to cultivate beauty from the land and share its magic, while leaving it unaffected and unharmed. I commit to continually learning about and implementing sustainable and regenerative farming practices along the way.  I hope I can inspire those around me to learn about sustainability, get excited about seasonality, and to reconnect with and embrace the power of the earth.

This dream would not have come true without the support of my amazing family and friends.  During a typical week on the farm you will find myself planting, growing, harvesting and designing.  You will find my husband, Jevan, carrying out a lot of the farm maintenance and building, as well as lending a helping hand with many various flower farming tasks.  Our babies keeping things sweet and reminds us of why we began this journey.  You may also find many of our other family members and friends who are always willing to get dirty and help out!

I hope that our flowers will bring brightness and happiness into your life someday soon!

Sustainability.

It is our mission to be kind to the earth using environmentally friendly and sustainable practices and products.  All our flowers are grown on our farm without the use of pesticides or chemicals, and using only organic materials.  We grow using regenerative practices to preserve the land and to provide biodiversity and a healthy ecosystem for all creatures.

Seasonality.

All our flowers are grown on our farm. We embrace the natural and seasonal beauty of nature and celebrate all that Mother Nature has to offer. Each blooming flower perfectly reflects its moment in time.

Supporting Local.

We source as much of our products, compost, and extra florals from local growers as possible.  We believe in supporting local because it’s important to us to work within our community to support each other, but also to eliminate negative impacts on the environment from preservatives and transportation.
